COVID-19 web courses in English
On behalf of the National Board of Health and Welfare, Karolinska Institutet has prepared two e-learning courses on COVID-19. The objective is to strengthen readiness and provide information on the most important principles and challenges involved in the work to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Focus is on principles of hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Course 1: COVID-19 - prevent the spread of infection and protect personnel working within Swedish healthcare and social services
This is the first course. The objective of this course is to provide basic understanding of COVID-19. After completing this course, you should have basic knowledge of routes of transmission, symptoms, groups at risk, and how to protect yourself and others in the best possible way.
The course may be considered basic knowledge to be used in combination with local guidelines at your workplace.
The target audience for this course is healthcare and social services personnel with the purpose of providing basic knowledge on COVID-19.
The course is provided through online learning and is free. It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Course 2: COVID-19 - triage and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
This is the second training. The purpose of this training is to review a number of important principles that apply when coming into contact with patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 infection. After the training, you should have a basic understanding of some important principles that apply in performing your work in terms of the correct way to manage and treat this patient group. The knowledge you gain through the training should be used as a supplement to local guidelines.
The target group for the training is staff working in healthcare and the social services who may work more closely with patients receiving care for suspected or confirmed COVID-19 infection.
It takes about 30 minutes to complete.
The courses are carried out remotely on the web and are free of charge. After completed training, you will receive a printable course certificate. Older web browsers, i.e., Internet Explorer, are not supported. We recommend using any of the common web browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.
Keep in mind that these courses are based on Sweden's national guidelines, national guidelines can vary. Make sure you know what guidelines apply in your country and where you work.
